WHOOVER 3.3 is an improved version of the legendary Whoover 2! We refined the device and added the 3.3 band. Yet it is still the same Whoover.
Install the included antennas on the corresponding connectors and turn on the device using the switch on the top panel — scanning will start automatically.
The device is intuitive to turn on and operate: simply switch it on and it automatically starts scanning all bands in search of analog video signals.
On the small screen, the device displays three histograms for the corresponding bands. Each one shows the start and end frequency of the scanning range in MHz.
By default, band scanning starts from the minimum operating value, but in the settings you can change the start and end points of the scanning ranges.
If the device cannot find any signal within its range, the screen will display the corresponding message — “Сигнал не знайдено” (Signal not found).
Once a signal with video is found, its frequency and level as a percentage will be displayed on the small screen, the device will emit a sound signal, and the intercepted video will begin streaming on the large screen. The signal streaming video is highlighted with a blue background.
The 🔼 and 🔽 buttons allow you to move through the signal list and switch video streaming between signals. These buttons also allow navigation through the device menu in menu mode (режим меню).
The receiver can only do one thing at a time: either scan the band or stream the intercepted video. While video is streaming, scanning of that band is paused.
This applies within a single band only: video found on one band (for example, 5.8) does not block scanning on the other bands (for example, 1.3) — they keep scanning as usual.
A short press of the 👁️ button turns off video streaming and frees the receiver — the device resumes scanning the band and keeps finding new signals. Another short press turns streaming back on.
All found signals are kept in the signal list. The 🔼 and 🔽 buttons move through the list and switch video streaming between signals. The signal currently streaming is highlighted with a blue background — when streaming is off, there is no blue highlight.
This is a different action from a short press: press and hold the button.
Any signal can be marked as “friend” (свій) — the scanner will not react to it and will not emit a sound alert (if sound is enabled). Use the 🔼/🔽 buttons to navigate to the signal, then hold the 👁️ button — the signal gets a green frame.
To remove the “friend” mark, hold the 👁️ button on that signal again until the green frame disappears.

Navigation through menu items is done using the 🔼 and 🔽 buttons. To change the value of the selected menu item, press the 👁️ button.
To exit the menu, select the item (>Save) and press the 👁️ button.
By default, the device comes with the Sound menu item enabled (shown as “Звук” on screen), but you can disable it if needed, and then the device will find new signals “silently”.
To disable the sound notification when finding a new signal, enter the menu, select the Sound item (Звук) and press the 👁️ button — the checkbox on the left will change its value.
After this, select the item (>Save) and press the 👁️ button.
Enter menu mode (режим меню) and select the Ranges item (Діапазони).
For better visualization of the spectrum scan, you can increase the histogram size.
Advanced and press the 👁️ button.Histogram height and press the 👁️ button to change the value — square brackets will appear around it.
The number of scanning cycles during which a signal is considered active.
If a signal existed for fewer scanning cycles than specified in the Station Lifetime parameter, the signal is considered lost and a countdown begins for its removal from the signal list.
This option will be useful if your small screen has a white background and this makes it difficult to work with the device in the dark.
Select this item and save the settings — inversion will make the background dark.
The sensitivity threshold allows you to cut off weak signals. With a value of 15%, the detector will not pay attention to signals with a level below 15%.
So if you set it to 60, it will only detect signals with a level above 60%.
On the other hand, if you set a very small value (less than 15), the scanning speed may drop significantly, as the device will pay attention to every minor signal.
The device performs self-diagnostics of key components each time it is turned on:
If any of them is not working, a red frame will appear around the small screen.
To understand what went wrong:
In case of an error, the screen will indicate what exactly is not working properly. In such a case, you should contact the service.
In normal operating mode, there should be no errors.
The device comes with omnidirectional antennas for each band. On the top of the device, there are marked SMA connectors for antennas at 5.8 GHz, 3.3 GHz, and 1.3 GHz respectively.
Install the included antennas according to the markings. Tighten the antennas firmly but not too tight, so as not to damage the connectors and the board.

The included antennas represent a compromise between practicality, reception quality, and versatility. In other words, no antenna exists that offers a good radiation pattern, decent gain and SWR, a compact form factor, and coverage of the wide frequency bands supported by Whoover receivers.
On the other hand, the enemy’s practice of using video transmitters and the UAV piloting style creates a favorable situation for video signals to be intercepted even with satisfactory antennas. Of course, such antennas have disadvantages: sometimes an inconvenient form factor, imperfect radiation pattern, relatively weak signal amplification, etc. But there are also advantages: they are compact, affordable, and they work!
The Whoover 3.3 package includes such antennas — workhorses that have been repeatedly tested in combat conditions, and we know for sure that they work. Our workshop is constantly searching for better antenna options to improve them even by 1%, so the included antennas may change from batch to batch.
In turn, depending on the direction, statistics of enemy UAV frequencies, and the overall situation, you can replace the included antennas with more suitable ones, which can significantly improve your signal reception quality and range. Pay attention to the replacement antenna connector — it must be SMA male.

To update the firmware, you need a Wi-Fi access point (2.4 GHz) with the following parameters:
The Firmware menu (Прошивка) shows the current firmware version on the device and the data for configuring the Wi-Fi access point. If you have configured the access point, select the item (>Update) to start the update.
